This release updates the Nexo UUID format to v7, adds support for a replacement MAC address, serial number, and model number on terminals, and fixes several CCV and NMI host issues.

Enhancements​

  • Terminals now support a replacement MAC address, serial number, and model number. We use this to resolve duplicate MAC addresses, and to reconfigure older terminals, for example from Apollo to Apollo Lite.

Downgrading after a replacement MAC address, serial number, or model number​

After a terminal uses a replacement MAC address, serial number, or model number, it is no longer compatible with platform versions older than 1.1.8. This impacts newly shipped terminals only.

Upgrading to or downgrading from v1.1.7​

Platform versions >= v1.1.7 use Desync to efficiently synchronize and transfer the files required for software updates between systems. Desync reduces data usage, and makes remote updates smaller, faster and more reliable. Earlier versions were based on OSTree.

Updating from an earlier platform version to 1.1.7 or later may take longer than usual, as the update mechanism changes between OSTree and Desync. This also applies when you downgrade from 1.1.7 or later to an earlier platform version.

This is expected behavior and does not indicate an issue with the update process.
